Visit to Kendal Fire Station

17 November 2016

Pre-School and Reception students visited Kendal Fire Station this week. They had an exciting time learning about the many ways the Fireman provide help to the local community, but by far the best bit was getting to use the hose!

Arriving at the control room the fire-crew organised a practice test to show us what happens in a real emergency, it was very exciting. The fire-fighters talked with the pupils about how else they help people other than just to combat fires.

Then it was off to the muster room where we looked at the special equipment each fire-fighter needs to wear for protection and then all the pupils got to sit in the fire engine.

The visit was part of IDEALS lessons led by the Head of Elleray campus, Mrs Thomas. Leading up to the trip, in class pupils have been thinking about people who help us in the local and wider community.

A massive thank you to Kendal Fire Station for letting us come and visit!
