Open Days and Visits

We welcome visitors to Windermere School at anytime - meet our current students, tour the magnificent grounds including our lakeside watersports centre, Hodge Howe, and drop in on a lesson to see what we have to offer. Teachers and key members of staff will be available to answer your questions, and guests are encouraged to join us for lunch in our Dining Hall overlooking the lake and fells.

Open Mornings
Open Mornings are held at Windermere School and Windermere Preparatory School each term. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet our staff and pupils, tour the school buildings and our beautiful grounds, and visit our watersports centre on the lake.

Tours and Visits anytime
We welcome visits year round for families and students to experience the school on a typical day. With prior notice we can arrange lunch with a particular year group or meetings with members of staff in subject areas of interest ( e.g. Sports coaches, Heads of Faculty, Learning Support or Special Educational Needs staff). Please contact admissions@windermereschool.co.uk to arrange an appointment.

Boarding Taster Days
We accept boys and girls as boarders from ages 8 to 18 (Years 3 to 13). The best way to experience the benefits of boarding are to try it our for a night or two. Candidates are paired with a student their own age to attend lessons with and share a room. All Boarding Taster students join in the daily activities, lessons and meal times to become familiar with the routine.

Events
We welcome families to attend school events to get a feel for the atmosphere and speak to other families. There is a wide choice of plays, concerts, and sporting fixtures which can be found in the school calendar. Please contact admissions@windermereschool.co.uk for further information.
