Recreational Programme

Wednesday afternoons, Saturday and Sunday are non-teaching days. Activity Excursions occur each Wednesday afternoon and all-day visits to popular destinations take place on Saturday.

With the morning’s study concluded, afternoons are dedicated to the pursuit of pleasure, with fun, excitement and adventure firmly on the menu!
All sports and activities have been included in the course fee. Students can therefore select from a range of exciting activities without having to worry about additional charges or costs.

A packed programme of sports is planned and students are able to take full advantage of the school’s lakeside location with a range of watersports. The Watersports Centre at Hodge Howe on the shores of Windermere has accreditation from the British Canoeing Union and the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, and is a recognised Royal Yachting Association teaching centre.

All activities are professionally supervised by experienced, highly qualified instructors and staff and include:

On-site Activities Watersports Outdoor Adventure
Arts & Crafts Sailing Golf Driving Range
Badminton Canoeing Fencing
Volleyball Windsurfing Archery
Tennis Kayaking Horse Riding
Football   Climbing Wall

In order to provide high quality activities, the School has formed links with several well established providers. If, as a result of changes outside the control of the School or for any other reason it is deemed necessary to modify the activity programme, the School reserves the right to cancel, restrict and/or change activities.

There’s free time before tea every afternoon to be passed on campus or in Windermere, and in the evenings students can relax and spend time with each other, cementing friendships and sharing stories. Each house has large common rooms with pool tables, table football and televisions for recreation. Additionally, we run evening entertainment sessions and encourage all to join in the fun and games:

Discos Barbecues
Cookery Film Nights
Quiz Nights House Competitions
Karaoke Tug of War
