Science/Laboratory Support Technician (Part-Time)

Windermere is an IB World and Round Square School, stunningly situated in the heart of the Lake District and overlooking the shores of Windermere.

 

Science/Laboratory Support Technician (Part-Time)

15 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, term time only.

This position provides important support services for the School’s Science Department, comprising seven full and part-time teaching staff.  The Science Department educates students to IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma standard and relies heavily on the Science/Laboratory Technician(s) to underpin teaching with the following key services:

  • Providing equipment, materials and physical assistance needed in the Science Laboratories for practical lessons.
  • Maintaining stocks and records, and carrying out other tasks such as maintenance, cleaning equipment and storage areas in support of the Science Department.
  • Advising staff on matters relating to Health and Safety and to taking on responsibility for specific roles detailed separately in the Science Department Safety Policy.
  • Supporting a wider remit to help recruit and retain students through, for example, assisting at School and public events, including Open Days (some of which are at weekends).

Part-Time School Driver (25 hours per week)

Windermere is an IB World and Round Square School for students from the UK and overseas from the age of 3 to 18 

 

PART-TIME SCHOOL DRIVER

This position is for 25 hours a week to cover an afternoon/evening shift from 2.00pm until 7.00pm each school day, plus 12 airport runs with students at both the start and finish of each School half term. 

All driving positions are remunerated at a rate of £8.27 an hour and drivers are also eligible to work further casual hours by agreement.

Duties will include visual inspections of the mini bus fleet, cleaning, and refuelling of vehicles.

The successful candidate(s) must hold a Full Driving Licence with Cat D1 essential. You must be reliable, personable and well presented.  Experience of first aid and of working with young people is also desirable.

Part-Time School Driver (10 hours per week)

Windermere is an IB World and Round Square School for students from the UK and overseas from the age of 3 to 18.

 

PART-TIME SCHOOL DRIVER

This position is for a morning driver to assist with school mini-bus runs following designated routes, with flexibility to take on additional casual hours.  These will be based on 10 hours a week, 7.00am – 9.00am Monday to Friday during term times.

 

All driving positions are remunerated at a rate of £8.27 an hour and drivers are also eligible to work further casual hours by agreement.

Duties will include visual inspections of the mini bus fleet, cleaning, and refuelling of vehicles.
