Westmorland
Sixth Form Boarding
Westmorland House is the Sixth Form base for boarding for boys and girls aged 16 to 18. It sits in its own grounds within the main campus, and is popular both with day students and boarders. Many day students choose to move into Westmorland for their final two years as an important step in learning to live away from home.
All students in the Westmorland live in self-contained flats each with their own common rooms, study areas and adjoining bedrooms and bathrooms. Day students are allocated to a boarding flat and are also given personal study space within the house.Westmorland House is the Sixth Form base for boarding for boys and girls aged 16 to 18. There is a communal open plan kitchen and dining area suitable for entertaining, along with a shared common room, TV room and laundry room. Designated areas for Sixth Form study and a Learning Resource Centre have been created for quiet study. Westmorland students have their own garden, patio with BBQ and adjoining car park.
Sixth Formers enjoy more freedom than the younger boarders at Browhead and Langdale, however there are house rules and residential house parents on site with 24 hour supervision. In this very important time before university, Sixth Formers are encouraged to take on responsibilities and find the right balance of study, fun and relaxation.
