In collaboration with LA23NET, Windermere School will welcome the Chairman of Warburtons, Jonathan Warburton, on Wednesday 6 March…
The Friends are a group of active parents who want to build an involved school community, who organise events, which either have a ‘feel good’ factor and/or raise money for “extra” things in Windermere School.
The Friends meet termly (dates in the calendar). It comprises of parent form coordinators with a chair, treasurer, secretary and representatives from the school.
Anyone is welcome to join. For more details, please contact Friends@windermereschool.co.uk
The Friends’ events and social activities are intended to create a friendly and welcoming social community for the benefit of parents, students and staff, which helps to highlight the family atmosphere of our school.
Funding is provided for projects which would normally fall outside of the Schools’ budget and which enhance the educational and recreational experience across all ages of the students.
The distribution of the funds raised through events is decided at termly event metings. The requests for funding are made to the Committee after approval by the Headmaster.

The first time my daughter and I visited the school she said to me “that is a happy school no question.” The scholastic achievements of the school are evident and an easy measure for a school to demonstrate. What is hard to quantify is the holistic development of a pupil at which, in my experience, Windermere School excels.
Windermere School is such a unique community to be a part of. Not only is it based in a truly beautiful and inspiring national park, but the environment created by staff and students alike makes for an incredibly supportive, proactive, exciting and international place of learning in which everyone can thrive and be the best they can be.
