Do you want to stand out from the crowd? Are you looking for Sixth Form courses which offer you the chance to design your own future? If so, you have come to the right place.
At this point in your school career, we know you are faced with many choices. Whether you want to keep your options open and follow a broad academic programme, or have already made up your mind about your future direction, we have a course to meet your aspirations and help you achieve your next step.
The IB programme is a prestigious qualification that aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge, as well as the personal, social, intellectual, and emotional skills to succeed in a globalised world.
Our students follow a curriculum that is made up of six subject groups, allowing you to select courses that match your interests. In addition, you will follow a Theory of Knowledge course, be given opportunities to take part in a programme designed to enhance your activity, creativity and service and complete an extended essay.
Research undertaken by HESA demonstrates that IB Students are twice as likely to enrol at the UK’s top 20 universities and are 30% more likely to achieve a first-class honours degree.
In 2018 Windermere School was voted Sunday Times IB School of the Year demonstrating our commitment to delivering outstanding IB provision.
This year our Year 13 students obtained another set of excellent results:

Our International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP) is designed for those who wish to benefit from a programme which combines a robust academic, career-related curriculum with a chance to develop a host of practical skills and experience which are highly desired by today’s employers.
Students follow our BTEC Business Course and choose two IB Diploma subjects that match their interests and aspirations. We combine this with a career-related core programme which develops knowledge of service learning, personal and professional skills, language development and a reflective project.
The IBCP is growing in popularity and university recognition. Our students consistently gain access to a range of top universities including Manchester, Leeds, and Lancaster to name a few.
A number of our students have gained results that equate to 40+ IBDP points (only 7% of students worldwide achieve 40+ IB points) and achieved recognition on the School Honours Board.
