Setting your child on the right path academically, socially and morally, is central to what we seek to achieve in our early years education.
Our philosophy is simple – we encourage each child to develop at his or her own pace, according to their individual needs. We achieve this through a combination of child-led and adult-initiated activities with staff that are passionate about helping every child to succeed and grow in a happy and nurturing atmosphere. There is a genuine family feel here – together with an incredible sense of fun and energy.
From Pre-School upwards your child will enjoy a vibrant and broad curriculum, including languages, music, IT, sport and swimming, all taught by subject specialists.
We are a non-selective school, as we don’t believe in pigeon-holing children, but rather that our role is to encourage every child to embrace all the wonderful opportunities on offer, and to discover and develop his or her talents and interests to the full.
Windermere School welcomes children up to Year 1 that are eligible for Funded Hours, for up to 15 hours per week.

The first time my daughter and I visited the school she said to me “that is a happy school no question.” The scholastic achievements of the school are evident and an easy measure for a school to demonstrate. What is hard to quantify is the holistic development of a pupil at which, in my experience, Windermere School excels.
Windermere School is such a unique community to be a part of. Not only is it based in a truly beautiful and inspiring national park, but the environment created by staff and students alike makes for an incredibly supportive, proactive, exciting and international place of learning in which everyone can thrive and be the best they can be.
