The concert at Jesus Church is always a joyful occasion, helped, of course, by the fact we all…
During the Easter and Summer holidays, Windermere School operates Sailing courses for children aged 8 to 17. Operating from Hodge Howe; the School’s private, lakeside watersports centre, all courses take place every morning. Each week long course costs £175.
Our team of qualified and experienced staff welcome students of all levels and abilities. We provide all safety equipment, and can also provide wetsuits and spray jackets if required. Operating in small groups, our friendly instructors are joined by a team of volunteers from the School’s sailing team.
Hodge Howe is an accredited RYA Training Centre where students can develop their sailing skills. Our selection of Bugs, Picos, Lasers, Fevas and Tera dingies enables us to cater for children aged 8 to 17, from beginners through to advanced sailors. Participants will receive a RYA Youth Sailing Log book (or can add to their existing log book).

Three of our four daughters have been boarders at the Senior School following our unexpected move to Hong Kong in 2012. One moved back to board at Windermere following two years in Hong Kong and our youngest can't wait to follow in her footsteps and return as an overseas boarder into Year 9. We cannot fault the standard of education and care which the girls have enjoyed throughout their Windermere journeys. In particular, we love the location - and the way in which the Lake District becomes part of the curriculum - and the international flavour of the Senior School.
Windermere School is such a unique community to be a part of. Not only is it based in a truly beautiful and inspiring national park, but the environment created by staff and students alike makes for an incredibly supportive, proactive, exciting and international place of learning in which everyone can thrive and be the best they can be.
