We welcome international students to our friendly school, where they will find happy and hardworking students on a safe and spacious campus.
Many students choose to visit Windermere School for a personal tour and a meeting with the Headmaster. This can be arranged by prior appointment during term time through the Admissions department.
All new students are matched with an academic tutor for personal assistance, along with a mentor, in their own year group, to guide them around the school and introduce them to their classmates.
Dormitories have full-time residential Housemasters and Housemistresses, with a qualified Nurse and medical room on the premises. The school provides an escorted airport collection service on dedicated travel days.
International students receive specialised EAL (English as an Additional Language) tuition from our experienced tutors, and have the option of a tailored package of study options to suit individual requirements, for a small additional fee.
Students have the option of participating in a Boarding Taster, where they can spend the night in one of the three Boarding Houses appropriate for their age. Students are warmly welcomed and are matched with students in their year group to attend classes, meet the teachers and make new friends. They will experience a full day, which will include all meals and an after-school sport or activity of their choice. This is a firmly established method of familiarisation and enables students to experience the benefits of school life at Windermere School.
Our students benefit from studying in an outstandingly beautiful environment, yet we are only five minutes from the shops at Windermere, only 90 minutes from the international airports of Manchester and Liverpool, and three hours from London by high-speed train service.
Staying connected with family and friends is easy with our many IT facilities, WiFi, Skype, and computer suites.
