If the student does not follow the Windermere International Summer School Code of Conduct (section 9 of this form) or behaves in any way deemed unacceptable by the International Summer School, we reserve the right to both discipline that student and/or send the student home immediately, with no refund of fees.
Windermere International Summer School will, where possible, look to caution students in the first instance and will make every effort to communicate early concerns over behaviour to parents and guardians. In respect to damages, caused deliberately or as a result of inappropriate behaviour, Windermere International Summer School will recover costs from the student or students involved.
Booking and arranging return flights are the responsibility of the parent/agent. Arrivals/Departures must be arranged for between 10.00am and 6.00pm at Manchester International Airport on the start/end date of each course – unless prior agreement is gained in writing
Students of the same Nationality are not usually accommodated in the same room as part of our commitment to developing English Language skills in every Student. However, in exceptional circumstances, this may not be possible.
Except where required by the terms of its own insurance cover, Windermere International Summer School does not accept liability for damages, injuries, illnesses or other claims related to students unless such liability is legally imposed. Windermere International Summer School does however have a specific arrangement in place with Gibbs Denley Limited, through which students may make appropriate claims. This insurance is tailored to suit the needs of international students studying abroad for short periods. A copy of the Student Guard Insurance Policy is available on the Summer School Website.
We accept students only on the understanding that they are in good health. The Medical and Dietary information allows you to give us an insight in to your child’s health and dietary needs, but we can take no responsibility for any aspects not included. We ask therefore that you give a full account in writing if there are any additional concerns or matters about which we need to know.

Adverse weather (Watersports Course)
In the event of adverse weather (strong winds, rough water or no wind) Windermere International Summer School reserves the right to alter from the watersports scheme syllabus to appropriate indoor activities. Three of our four daughters have been boarders at the Senior School following our unexpected move to Hong Kong in 2012. One moved back to board at Windermere following two years in Hong Kong and our youngest can't wait to follow in her footsteps and return as an overseas boarder into Year 9. We cannot fault the standard of education and care which the girls have enjoyed throughout their Windermere journeys. In particular, we love the location - and the way in which the Lake District becomes part of the curriculum - and the international flavour of the Senior School.
Windermere School is such a unique community to be a part of. Not only is it based in a truly beautiful and inspiring national park, but the environment created by staff and students alike makes for an incredibly supportive, proactive, exciting and international place of learning in which everyone can thrive and be the best they can be.
