For many children, the real adventure starts at the end of the school day – when they have the opportunity to choose from one of our many after-school activities. There is a wealth of choice; with art and craft, sports, music and games. Our extensive lunchtime and after-school programme provides an unmissable opportunity for your child to explore their interests in a recreational setting. Many pupils stay for activities after school, enjoying the wide range of clubs on offer, including:
The following are available for an additional cost: Aikido, Golf, Speech and Drama and Dance Classes (Ballet, Modern, Tap and Street Dance).
We understand that busy lives demand a special type of childcare. Junior School children have the option of staying at our After-School Care Club, where activities are planned to provide a fitting end to the day for our 4 to 11 year olds and a light tea is provided.
This provides the opportunity to complete homework in a supervised setting. Collection is at 5.30pm. We also provide an extensive travel service, with buses running to Kendal, Grange-over-Sands, Ulverston, Barrrow-in-Furness and Ambleside.
The first time my daughter and I visited the school she said to me “that is a happy school no question.” The scholastic achievements of the school are evident and an easy measure for a school to demonstrate. What is hard to quantify is the holistic development of a pupil at which, in my experience, Windermere School excels.
Windermere School is such a unique community to be a part of. Not only is it based in a truly beautiful and inspiring national park, but the environment created by staff and students alike makes for an incredibly supportive, proactive, exciting and international place of learning in which everyone can thrive and be the best they can be.
