The Mary Wakefield Music Festival takes place in Kendal every two years and the Music department always try…
At Windermere School we combine a ‘sport for all’ philosophy along with more focused team training and weekly fixtures against preparatory and local schools in the north of England.
Our team and competitive sports include:
Our sports curriculum develops all the core gross motor skills: jumping, kicking, striking, throwing and catching and the more specialised fine motor skills of tackling, passing on and using an implement in sport.
Our after-school team sports training supports the curriculum in delivering competent sportsmen and sportswomen who have gone on to represent the county and even the country in their chosen sport.
The first time my daughter and I visited the school she said to me “that is a happy school no question.” The scholastic achievements of the school are evident and an easy measure for a school to demonstrate. What is hard to quantify is the holistic development of a pupil at which, in my experience, Windermere School excels.
Windermere School is such a unique community to be a part of. Not only is it based in a truly beautiful and inspiring national park, but the environment created by staff and students alike makes for an incredibly supportive, proactive, exciting and international place of learning in which everyone can thrive and be the best they can be.
