On Saturday, a team of Windermere School’s finest laced up their running shoes and took on The Lap — a gruelling 47-mile (75km) ultra marathon around Lake Windermere. Year 13 student Charlie, along with Mr Western, Mr Otunnu and Mrs Murray, braved relentless rain and mud to complete this extraordinary challenge.

All four runners crossed the finish line with determination and impressive times, showing incredible resilience and spirit. A special congratulations goes to Charlie, who not only completed the ultra marathon but also won an award and trophy for being the youngest finisher — at just 17 years old!

We are immensely proud of Charlie and our dedicated staff members for their perseverance and achievement. What an inspiring example for our whole school community.
