Nestling in the Lake District fells, the School offers senior boarding and the chance to learn and live in a less hectic and more peaceful environment.

Senior boarding enjoys the independence of living away from home while being part of a large community of staff and pupils with who they share this unforgettable experience. We aim to provide a safe and caring extended family environment where boarding pupils can flourish academically, socially, and personally.

Our goal is to give our pupils the life skills and experiences necessary to prepare them for adulthood.

The weekend programme is packed with trips to the theatre, tours of the area, shopping expeditions and leisure activities such as bowling and roller-blading. Boarders form strong friendships with day pupils who regularly join in with the weekend activity programme.

Langdale House is a girls and boys boarding house available for children aged 8-16, set within our Lake District woodland campus. It offers a home away from home experience, with a comfortable lounge to relax with friends, widescreen TV and kitchen. There are quiet areas for prep, with academic tutors’ scheduled each evening providing specialist subject tuition. After Year 11, pupils move on to our Sixth Form boarding house, Westmorland.

Our aim is to care for the wellbeing of every individual child and provide a safe and nurturing environment, while encouraging pupils to understand themselves and develop emotional resilience for the challenges of 21^st century living.
