On Friday, 29 November, the Friends of Windermere School hosted a truly magical drinks party at the breath-taking Town Head Estate, bringing together the entire Windermere School family for an evening of joy and connection. Parents, children and staff were all in attendance, the event welcomed an impressive gathering, creating memories that will be treasured by all who attended.
The evening unfolded with a warm and festive start as guests gathered around the beautifully arranged bar, sipping drinks that set the tone for a night of celebration. Karen Rhodes Weddings and Events, led by Stannite (alumni) Charlotte Rhodes, delighted everyone with an exquisite feast, while the children enjoyed their own festive fun with a lively disco and delicious pizza—filling the room with laughter and cheer.
A pinnacle moment of the evening occurred upstairs, where an extraordinary auction sparked excitement and generosity. With 13 remarkable auction lots—including exclusive concert tickets, a Michelin-star dining experience at Lake Road Kitchen, and even a day of home help from two of our delightful Year 10 pupils—the auction was a triumph of goodwill, raising significant funds for the school.
The Friends of Windermere School went above and beyond to make this celebration unforgettable. Their efforts not only strengthened the bonds of our community but also raised a huge amount of money for projects that directly enrich the school experience. Recent initiatives supported by the Friends include the purchase of 14 new climbing shoes for Adventure lessons, updated sports and science equipment, and renovations to the Year 6 common room and Sixth Form Study Centre.
As the Friends of Windermere School beautifully expressed, “It’s truly wonderful to bring everyone together, strengthening our sense of community while supporting the school through meaningful fundraising efforts.”
