Introducing Our New Senior Council

25 April 2024

We are thrilled to introduce you to the dynamic individuals comprising Windermere School’s Senior Council for 2024-25. Charged with helping to steer the course of our school community, these Sixth Form students exemplify leadership, integrity and a deep commitment to service.

At Windermere School, the Senior Council holds a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment conducive to learning and growth. Led by a Head of School and two Deputy Heads of School, our Senior Council members undertake a range of responsibilities.

One of the key functions of the Senior Council is to oversee and chair various School Councils and Committees, each dedicated to addressing specific aspects of school life. From the Lower School Council to the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, these bodies serve as platforms for student engagement and empowerment.

It’s a process driven by merit and passion: students have the opportunity to apply for a seat on a Council or Committee, followed by an interview process and they are then elected. The Senior Council holds regular meetings with key staff members, including the Head, Deputy Head, Head of Sections, Head of Boarding and Head of Round Square. These meetings provide a forum for discussing issues that may be affecting both individual pupils and the broader school community.

Join us in celebrating the dedication and leadership of Windermere School’s Senior Council for 2024-25 as they embark on a journey to shape a brighter future for us all.
