Making Memories: Year 7 & 8 French Trip

10 May 2024

Bonjour!

Windermere’s Year 7 and 8 pupils have been greeted with a week packed full of excitement and new experiences during their French trip. From mastering circus skills to embarking on adrenaline-pumping adventures, here’s a glimpse into the thrilling time our pupils are having….

The trip kicked off with a familiar activity for many of our pupils, kayaking! With the picturesque French landscape as the backdrop, excitement filled the air as they navigated through the rapids. The rushing waters provided thrills for all, testing the skills and determination of our intrepid paddlers.

The excitement carried on with a burst of energy as our pupils delved into a circus skills session like no other. From balancing on giant balls to tightrope walking and plate spinning, every participant embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. However, it was Eleanor who stole the show with her remarkable prowess in the silk, effortlessly combining climbing, binding, drops, and swings to awe us all with her skilful performance.

The following day, our Year 7s and 8s ventured into the charming streets of Dijon for a captivating treasure hunt. Teams raced against the clock, solving clues and unravelling mysteries, with the victorious group basking in the glory of their triumph, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.

As the day progressed, they made history of their own by breaking records in a puzzle competition! Minds were challenged, strategies were devised, and triumphs were celebrated, showcasing our pupils collective intellect and teamwork.

The day concluded with heartfelt celebrations as they celebrated Annie’s birthday, adding a sprinkle of joy to their already vibrant day. Surrounded by laughter and camaraderie, the pupils created memories to cherish for a lifetime, strengthening bonds and forging lasting friendships.

But the excitement didn’t end there! The morning buzzed with creative energy as Year 7 and 8 pupils meticulously crafted vibrant mosaics, each piece reflecting their unique creativity and ingenuity.

As the day transitioned into the afternoon, the adventure reached new heights as our pupils embarked on a thrilling tree-top adventure. Amidst the lush canopy, they navigated through suspended bridges, conquered Tarzan swings, balanced on logs, traversed cables and soared through mega-ziplines, each descent delivering a rush of adrenaline and a sense of boundless adventure.

As their journey draws to a close, the echoes of laughter and camaraderie linger, serving as a testament to the bonds forged and friendships strengthened during Windermere’s French adventure. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff team whose unwavering commitment and enthusiasm made this trip possible. Your tireless efforts have enriched the lives of our pupils, fostering a spirit of curiosity, resilience, and cultural appreciation that will continue to shine bright in their futures.

Our pupils return home tomorrow so for now, au revoir and merci for an unforgettable adventure!
