Windermere School Welcomes Jonny Hunter for an Inspiring Day of Obstacle Course Racing

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming back Stannite and professional athlete Jonny Hunter to Windermere School. Jonny represents Great Britain in Obstacle Course Racing (OCR), a dynamic and rapidly growing sport set to feature in the next Olympics as part of the Modern Pentathlon.
Throughout the day, Jonny led two energetic workshops for our pupils, and a special session for Stannites and parents. His passion for OCR and his engaging teaching style captivated everyone, sparking newfound enthusiasm for a sport that pushes both mental and physical boundaries.
Jonny’s message to participants was as motivating as his workshops:
“You all played brilliantly! I was amazed at the energy and effort you put into your race and how well you adapted to the challenges and obstacles ahead of you. Thank you for going 100% all in and giving it your best go. I hope the workshop has kindled a fire to step deeper into the world of obstacle sports and racing, and to face and conquer another challenge! The impact of Jonny’s visit was undeniable. Pupils left buzzing with excitement and a renewed interest in pursuing OCR. Seeing where this sport can take you, both in fitness and personal growth, was truly eye-opening for many.
A heartfelt thank you to Jonny for his time, expertise, and unwavering inspiration. His visit not only introduced many to the world of obstacle racing but also demonstrated how determination and resilience can help conquer any challenge.
