Year 11 Service
26 November 2020
Built into the foundation of Windermere School is the expectation that all students engage with local and wider communities through our Service programme.
Last week, Year 11 students travelled to Bell Beck to help tidy the area where five Leaky Dams, a natural flood management system, had been planted to aid the flood prevention of one of our local villages, Troutbeck.
Students were involved in clearing the tree planting tubes that had been left on and were causing damage. It was a most enjoyable day and we are thrilled that we will be returning later in the year to plant more trees (Alder and Willow) in a bid to secure the flood defences further.
