Windermere Pupils Go the Extra Mile – and Then Some!
12 May 2025
This past weekend, two of Windermere School’s remarkable pupils, Ethan and Jacob, undertook the formidable Coniston to Barrow Walk, a 22-mile endurance challenge – and they did so in style! Completing the route in an impressive 5 hours and 48 minutes, they raised valuable funds for the Great North Air Ambulance.
But it wasn’t just their athletic achievement that stood out. Along the way, the pupils demonstrated extraordinary character and compassion, stopping to help a collapsed runner and quickly alerting emergency services. Their presence of mind and kindness in a moment of crisis speaks volumes about who they are as people – and makes us incredibly proud.
With temperatures soaring, this was no easy task. Yet both pupils tackled the distance with determination, good humour, and even smiles on their faces. They truly smashed the challenge, showing resilience, generosity and genuine care for others.
A huge well done to both of you – you’ve inspired us all!
