Windermere School Buzzes with Creativity for Annual Performing Arts Week
24 February 2025
This week, Windermere School has come alive with energy, creativity, and collaboration as pupils from Year 7 to Year 13 joined forces for our much-anticipated annual Performing Arts Week.
A cherished highlight of the school calendar, the event brings together pupils across year groups to celebrate teamwork and the performing arts. This year each house group has chosen a country to represent, bringing its unique culture to life on stage through music, dance and drama. The 2025 house-country pairings are as follows:
- Cavendish: Celebrating the spirit of Greece
- Flemyng: Showcasing the vibrant culture of Imperial Russia
- Lonsdale: Bringing the rhythm of Brazil
- Strickland: Embracing the elegance of France
What makes this event even more special is that everything is entirely pupil-led. Although Mrs McCallum and Mrs Nield have been at every rehearsal keeping a careful eye on proceedings, Performing Arts Captains have stepped up as leaders, organising rehearsals, guiding performances and fostering a sense of community within their houses.
The buzz of rehearsals has filled the school this week as pupils fine-tune their performances, eagerly anticipating the grand finale on Saturday, 8 February. The final competition promises to be an unforgettable showcase of creativity, collaboration, and school spirit.
Windermere School is an Independent Boarding and Day School for ages 3-18, across Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form.
