Year 12 Induction Day – A Memorable Start to Sixth Form Life

29 August 2025

Yesterday, Year 12 students officially began their Sixth Form journey with an exciting and action-packed induction day. The programme was designed to challenge students, encourage teamwork, and set the tone for the year ahead.

The day began with a series of activities in which students worked in teams to earn points. From music challenges and a food-themed quiz to orienteering, every activity tested different skills and brought plenty of energy and enthusiasm. Importantly, the points they gained were converted into valuable seconds to be used in the grand finale: the raft-building challenge.

Despite the rain, spirits remained high as each team worked together to build their rafts. Once complete, two students from each group bravely set sail in a thrilling race across the water. The competition was fierce, but the atmosphere was full of laughter, encouragement, and determination.

After drying off, everyone gathered at Westmorland House to warm up and share a well-deserved BBQ, rounding off the day with a real sense of community and celebration.

This induction was not only an exciting start to Sixth Form life but also a valuable opportunity for Year 12 students to build friendships, strengthen teamwork skills, and create lasting memories as they embark on this new chapter of their education.
