Year 9 – Hamlet Representations
29 January 2024
In our English lessons, Year 9 have been using practical activities to think about key themes and ideas in the text before getting into analysis of the play Hamlet.
The first activity was called ‘family photograph’. Pupils had to work together in groups to create a ‘happy family’ photograph of the characters from the play. They were asked to consider the complex emotions of the characters: Hamlet, Gertrude and Claudius. They could represent their attitudes by thinking about facial expressions, proxemics (their positions – how close they would stand) and whether they were facing each other.
Well done Year 9, some great representations!
