Windermere School Sports Update
21 May 2025
It’s been an exciting and action-packed week for Windermere School sport, with our pupils continuing to impress both on and off the field.
Last Thursday, we took 40 pupils to the Track and Field Cup in Barrow. A huge thank you to Dowdales School for their excellent organisation, and to Furness Academy for kindly hosting the event. Our athletes showed fantastic spirit and determination throughout the day – well done to all who took part!
We’re also incredibly proud to announce that, following some outstanding performances at the Northern Prep Schools Athletics competition, three of our students – Magnus, Emma and Eva – have been selected to represent the North at the prestigious National Prep Schools Athletics Competition in Birmingham this July. This is a tremendous achievement, and we offer them our warmest congratulations. Many of our other athletes were just inches or milliseconds away from selection, which speaks volumes about the depth of talent in our school. Thank you to Sedbergh Prep for organising such a memorable event.
Meanwhile, the cricket season is in full swing, with various age groups in action this week against Ullswater and QEGS. We’re enjoying a busy fixture list and look forward to more great performances as the season progresses.
