Year 6s Share Sweetness on National Vanilla Cupcake Day
20 November 2025
Earlier this week, our wonderful Year 6 pupils rolled up their sleeves in Food and Nutrition to celebrate National Vanilla Cupcake Day. The classroom was filled with the scent of freshly baked cupcakes as they mixed, piped and decorated their delicious creations with care and creativity.
But the celebration didn’t stop there, our thoughtful Year 6s decided to spread the joy by donating their cupcakes to the Windermere Food Bank. During their visit, pupils had the opportunity to meet and chat with the dedicated volunteers, learning more about the incredible work the food bank does to support individuals and families across our community.
It was a fantastic experience that combined practical learning, teamwork and community spirit, and the pupils are already planning their next project: Christmas donations!
Well done, Year 6, for turning a fun baking activity into a heart-warming act of kindness.
