A Night to Remember: Windermere’s Summer Concert Celebrates Talent and Tribute
16 June 2025
On Friday 13 June, the Windermere School community came together for one of the most anticipated evenings in our calendar — the annual Summer Concert. The concert was nothing short of magical. Our pupils took to the stage with confidence, passion, and extraordinary musical talent, filling the room with performances that moved and inspired everyone present.
This year’s concert carried a particularly special meaning. It marked the final Summer Concert under the direction of our beloved Head of Music, Mrs McCallum, who will be retiring at the end of this academic year after 41 remarkable years of service to Windermere School.
Words cannot fully express the impact Mrs McCallum has had on our school. Her unwavering dedication, musical expertise, and deep care for every student have shaped generations of performers. Many of our alumni can trace their love of music — and even their careers — back to her classroom, her rehearsals, and her encouragement. The strong bonds she maintains with former students are a true testament to the legacy she leaves behind.
As if the Summer Concert wasn’t emotional enough, Mrs McCallum has one final encore this weekend — a very special performance with nearly 200 people attending. Their eagerness to come back and perform one last time is a testament to the lasting mark she has made on their lives.
While we will dearly miss Mrs McCallum’s presence at the helm of our music programme, her legacy will continue to echo through the halls of Windermere School. We are deeply committed to nurturing the incredible musical talents of our pupils and ensuring that her spirit of passion, excellence, and joy in music lives on for many years to come.
Thank you, Mrs McCallum, for the music, the memories, and the magic.
