Dubbs Reservoir Dash: Year 7 & 8 Celebrate First Cross Country Success

27 September 2024

Yesterday, our Year 7 and 8 pupils took part in their very first Inter-House Cross Country event of the year—a 1.5K dash ending at the scenic Dubbs Reservoir. Despite the damp weather, spirits remained high, with all four house teams rallying together for a fun and competitive race.

Motivated by some inspirational team talks, every pupil set off determined to give their best. While points were awarded for top finishes, just completing the course earned valuable points for the teams as well. The final tally saw Strickland take the lead with 42 points, followed by Cavendish with 35, Flemyng with 24, and Lonsdale with 15. Special recognition goes to Magnus and Emma, who claimed the titles of first boy and first girl across the line!

The excitement doesn’t stop here. The next race is just two weeks away, where pupils will tackle the Orrest Head route—a longer and more technical course with steeper climbs. Stay tuned for more thrilling action!
