Equestrian Team Success
23 March 2023
The new Windermere School Equestrian Team had amazing success at the National School Equestrian Association dressage event at Newton Rigg on Saturday 18 March.
It was the most fabulous day with parents, grandparents and trainers with us and there was a great team spirit. Alanah, Zara, Serena, Eliza, and Eleanor were in attendance, along with six horses. We had two teams, Windermere School Swallows and Amazons and Windermere School Browhead.
In the first class, Prelim 13, Alanah came 4th and won a place to represent the school at the National Championships. Zara came 7th and Serena was 8th, both winning a place to represent school at the Plate Championships.
In the Novice Class Zara came 3rd and Alanah came 4th, securing them both places to represent the school at the National Championships.
In the overall team results, Barnard Castle came 1st, the Windermere School Browhead team (Serena, Eliza and Alanah came 2nd), Sedbergh came 3rd and we came 4th with Windermere School Swallows and Amazons team (Eliza, Zara and Eleanor). This success means as a team we have also qualified for the Nationals with only 1st and 2nd places going through.
