Reaching New Summits: School Climbers in Action
15 September 2025
Last week, the weather on Monday and Tuesday allowed our students from Y9-13 to go rock climbing outside.
Monday the NCFE Year 12 cohort had their first experience of multi pitch climbing in Langdale, then across to East Raven for even more climbing.
Two Year 9 groups on Tuesday afternoon climbed at Stickle Barn crag in Langdale.
That same day we then had 15 pupils from the schools climbing club at a local cliff to school, climbing all the way until the sunset.
Wednesday, the weather was not quite so good, so the five Year 13s keen to climb went to Kendal climbing wall.
It is great to see so many keen climbers at School and so many trying hard and obviously enjoying this brilliant sport.
