Sailing Team Feva Training
15 October 2020
On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October, six school students from the new Development Squad and Sailing Team made the early start to travel to Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club in Warrington for the Andrew Simpson Feva Training. The Andrew Simpson Centre is a charity set up to try and bring more sailors into racing in the various junior pathway boats. The Feva class being one of them.
The sailors had a real mix of conditions from strong gales and hailstone to bright sunshine and light winds. For the development squad, this was their first chance to experience another racing venue and to sail with many different classes. The weekend was a great success with all sailors improving on downwind sailing. The next training weekend is in the new year, and all the team are looking forward to more class-specific training and the goal of entering regattas again in spring 2021.
Well done to Edie J, Max B-G, Henry T, Silas T and Oscar D.
