Today, 23 April, is celebrated as the day William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564 (he also died on the same date, 52 years later).

To mark the occasion, and to inspire the entrants in our Performing Shakespeare competition, whose regional finals begin in mid-May, the English Speaking Union has chosen to share this amazing monologue of Titania from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performed by Windermere School’s, Romilly W.
