Windermere School Shines at RS Feva Northern Winter Championships

7 January 2025

On 4 January 2025, ten fearless members of our Race Sailing Team braved the icy waters at Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club to compete in the RS Feva Northern Winter Championships. Battling 2°C temperatures, ice-filled boats, and light, chilly winds, our sailors displayed extraordinary resilience and tenacity, making us incredibly proud.

With parents cheering from the shore, the day was one to remember! A special congratulations goes to Jennifer B and Anna S (an honorary Windermere School sailor), George A and Ethan L, and Holly J and Elizabeth J – as the top 3 Windermere boats. Our team represented the school outstandingly and secured some great results, showcasing the talent and determination of Windermere School’s sailors.

We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr. A Monk and Edie Johnson for their unwavering support, invaluable advice, and quick-thinking solutions—even hopping into a boat when needed! Their dedication was instrumental in making the day such a success.

This unforgettable event truly highlights the spirit of Windermere School. As the first event of the year, it set the tone for an exciting 2025. We can’t wait to see what the year holds for our fantastic sailors!
