Year 5’s Exciting Soap-Making Adventure at Pure Lakes
6 February 2025
Today, Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the amazing Pure Lakes! As part of their Science topic on changing materials, the pupils had the perfect opportunity to apply their learning by making their very own soap.
The incredible team at Pure Lakes, as well as owners Gareth and Claire—who are also proud parents of two of our pupils—welcomed the children with warmth and enthusiasm. They guided them through every step of the soap-making process, sharing their expert knowledge and sparking plenty of curiosity along the way. While they waited for their soap to set, the children were treated to hot chocolate and biscuits, making the day even more special. The workshop was filled with wonderful scents and smiles, creating a sensory experience the pupils won’t soon forget!
Although the soap is still setting in Mrs Gaskins office (she’s never smelt so good!), it won’t be long before the children can bring home their beautifully crafted creations to share with their families.
We extend a huge thank you to Gareth, Claire and the entire Pure Lakes team for providing such a memorable learning experience. We highly recommend the Pure Lakes soap-making workshop for anyone looking for a hands-on, inspiring adventure!
