An Incredible 24-Hour Challenge for Charity
13 January 2026
On 30 December, one of our wonderful pupils, Euan, supported every step of the way by his mum and dad, completed an extraordinary 24-hour challenge they designed themselves, all in aid of Myeloma UK.
The challenge was no small feat: to run, walk, or crawl 5km every three hours for 24 hours. That meant setting off at 9am, then again at 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, midnight, 3am and finally finishing at 6am.
The overnight legs were especially gruelling. With streetlights off, torches on, temperatures dropping to -3°C and tired, aching bodies, Euan pushed on regardless. After each leg there was just enough time for a quick drink, shower, change of clothes, some food, a short rest and then straight back out again.
Euan absolutely smashed it!
The school community and his parents could not be prouder of his resilience, determination and the pure joy he felt every time another donation came in.
The reason behind the challenge is very close to Euan and his family’s hearts. Earlier this year, close family friends received the devastating news that they had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer that sadly has no cure. Euan and his family wanted to support Myeloma UK, a small charity doing incredible work for patients and families, while funding vital research in the hope that one day a cure will be found.
Euan set an initial JustGiving target of £500, but thanks to the overwhelming kindness and generosity of so many people, the total has more than doubled and with Gift Aid now stands at over £1,300.
Well done, Euan. You are a truly inspiring, bright, shining star.
