A favourite on the event calendar, this year’s Paddle and Pastries morning was a huge success with our children and their families, from Pre School to Year 2.

The event, which is held at our private watersports centre on the shores of Lake Windermere, is designed to give our youngest children a taste of all the adventures that awaits them as they grow through the school. Putting on the buoyancy aids for the first time caused great excitement, as did getting in the power boat for the short trip out on the water where our school yacht is moored. The children (and parents!) learned all about the importance of ducking under the boom and after a windy trip made it back to shore where warm pastries were waiting.

Our children start the school Adventure Programme from Year 3 when they will spend a whole afternoon every other week taking part in adventure activities, ranging from sailing, paddle sports and climbing, to
caving, walking and biking. Children realise that they are capable of more than they could ever imagine. They are inspired to embrace challenges and become well-rounded, resilient, confident and independent thinkers.
