As the nights are getting darker, we were lucky enough to start last week with a fantastic sunset to practise our skills. The students looked at how depth of field, framing and reflection helped to make the sunset more interesting and avoid the ‘point and shoot’ technique.

We also looked at ‘shadowing’; the technique of using a black or dark object in the foreground and use the sunset as a backdrop to help illuminate the object.
