Year 12 IB Visual Arts students visit Printing Making Exhibition

Last night, the Year 12 IB Visual Arts students were kindly invited to the Private View and Opening of the 8th Annual Print Making Exhibition at Rheged in Penrith.
They had a fabulous evening looking at artwork produced by 58 printmakers from all over the country. There are over 400 prints in the exhibition which is the largest of its kind in the UK.
Students also had the opportunity to meet some of the artists and chat about their printmaking and learned about printing techniques and processes such as environmentally sustainable printmaking dyes and met the family who invented the Gunning Etching press. Inspired by their experience our art student’s next project will be to produce a piece of art related to a piece or technique in the exhibition.
