Year 9 Begin Their Journey Into the IB Extended Essay

Last Thursday, our Year 9 pupils took their first exciting steps into the world of the IB Extended Essay, transforming their personal passions into thought-provoking research questions.

As a core component of the IB Diploma, the Extended Essay is designed to develop essential skills that will support students throughout their academic careers and beyond. During their introductory workshop, Year 9 worked as independent inquirers, exploring areas of genuine interest, engaging in critical thinking and building confidence in their ability to conduct academic research.

Their enthusiasm for learning and discovery was inspiring to see. This early exposure to IB-style inquiry not only sparks curiosity but also lays a strong foundation for future success as they progress through the Diploma Programme.
