Windermere School is an independent, coeducational boarding and day school in the heart of England’s Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The breathtaking location not only makes for an inspiring educational setting but enables students to make use of what surrounds them; taking part in watersports, hill walking and many other outdoor adventures. This makes for a truly unique and ever busy extra-curricular programme
Windermere School offers a range of watersports courses that take place during the School holidays. We welcome children aged 8 to 17 from external schools, and our own school, to take part.
Hodge Howe Watersports Centre is less than a mile from the Elleray Campus and the Browhead Campus.
The first time my daughter and I visited the school she said to me “that is a happy school no question.” The scholastic achievements of the school are evident and an easy measure for a school to demonstrate. What is hard to quantify is the holistic development of a pupil at which, in my experience, Windermere School excels.
Windermere School is such a unique community to be a part of. Not only is it based in a truly beautiful and inspiring national park, but the environment created by staff and students alike makes for an incredibly supportive, proactive, exciting and international place of learning in which everyone can thrive and be the best they can be.
