Year 10 – Service
7 May 2021
Built into the foundation of Windermere School is the expectation that all students engage with local and wider communities through our Service programme.
Last week, Year 10 students travelled to Bell Beck to help tidy the area where five Leaky Dams, a natural flood management system, had been planted to aid the flood prevention of one of our local villages, Troutbeck.
Students were involved in clearing the tree planting tubes that had been left on and were causing damage and were later asked to help check water quality by measuring river fly larvae (otherwise termed ‘wee beasties’).
An enjoyable time was had by all and we cannot wait to go back later in the year.
