The Easter break is soon upon us and as I write this I can hear lots of excited young voices as the Junior School pupils take a break from their dress rehearsal for their production – Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies. It promises to be very entertaining and an important experience for all our young performers to grow in confidence on the stage. Book your free ticket for the shows on this coming Monday and Tuesday night here.
Our older pupils will have a busy break revising for the IB and GCSE examinations. The key is to have a revision plan and to work at it steadily. Everyone should already know what they will be doing over the holiday but for any pupil who needs a little extra help with structuring their time I would recommend “Get Revising” to plan out their revision.
As well as the essential daily routine of learning there are key moments in the year when we focus on a particular aspect of the curriculum and on Friday 15 March we had a special focus on careers education. Senior School pupils enjoyed our Careers Conference, which focused on ‘Skills for the Future’. Over 30 organisations, including a number of parents, came to share their experiences with Year 7 to 13 and to help with interview practice. The event began with an inspirational speech from Mr Neil Jurd OBE, a global expert in leadership development and founder of Leader Connect. A huge thank you to Mrs Murray for organising such a wonderful event and I encourage you to read the news article summaries below.
I wish you a very happy Easter and joyful Eid, and look forward to seeing you all again next term.
