Are you looking for a fun and exciting new challenge over the holidays? Do you dream of being a future star of London’s West End? Come and expand your confidence and skills at our hugely popular ‘West End at Windermere’ holiday course.

West End at Windermere is designed for children who enjoy singing, dancing and acting to develop their skills and have fun.

Throughout the course, your child will receive full supervision from our expert director Ashley Johnson and his team. Activities will include learning choreography in our specialised dance studio, singing songs as a group, and if they are brave enough, a solo, and acting in both improvised and scripted scenes.

At lunchtime, children will have their lunch on the terrace, with space to run around and have some fun. At the end of the week (Friday 14 April), an informal Showcase of work will be performed in the theatre, Crampton Hall. Friends and family have free tickets for the Showcase which will begin at 4pm.

This course is suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced performers. Just bring along your enthusiasm and, of course, your best singing voice and dancing feet!

Autism Awareness

Autism is a lifelong disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. There are approximately 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK. This equates to 1 in 100 people. However, it is suspected that there are many more adults and children who are undiagnosed.

Chris Packham CBE, autistic man and National Autistic Society Ambassador when asked what Autism Acceptance means to him, replied, “Being comfortable having a conversation about how my brain works differently and how this may hinder or help my personality”.

Windermere School are taking part in World Autism Acceptance Week by having a non-uniform day on Friday 31 March. Pupils are encouraged to come to school on that day dressed in brightly coloured clothes. At Browhead Campus there will be a Bake Sale assisted by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commitee. All the money raised from the Bake Sale will be donated to the National Autistic Society to support the work they do.

If you would like to find out more you can visit the Autism UK website by clicking here.

The BBC have recently aired two TV programmes around the topic of autism:
