Invitation to the IB Core Showcase and Arts Exhibition Evening
I am delighted to be able to invite you to an event we are running as part of our Sixth Form students’ International Baccalaureate (IB) journey. This is a celebratory event for families of Year 12 and 13 students, but also an exciting opportunity for all parents to discover more about the IB programmes we offer.
Our Year 13 students are fast approaching the end of Sixth Form and would like to share with you their unique experience of the various components of the IB Core: a highly recognised part of both the Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP). The Year 12 DP students will be showcasing their critical thinking skills in the Exhibition, an assessment task for Theory of Knowledge.
In addition, the Drama and Arts department will be sharing the fantastic work our IB pupils have created. Our talented Year 13 Visual Arts students will be opening their Exhibition and displaying artwork inspired by their individual journeys. Tania Pencu, will be showcasing her impressive Music collaborative project and our Year 12 students will be sharing a sneak preview of the upcoming Sixth Form play Hamlet. The evening promises to be an inspiring event filled with success, learning and creativity.
The event is open to all our families, from those whose children have just started in Reception and to those who have sons and daughters who are currently a Sixth Form student. We are aware that families would like to understand more about the many benefits offered by the IB and therefore the evening is also for parents who have expressed an interest in finding out about the IB pathway.
The evening will take place on Wednesday 15 March 2023. Parking will be on the tennis courts, and you are welcome to arrive from 6pm. Mr Hill will be opening the evening, with many opportunities to speak to students and refreshments available. The exhibitions will take place in Browhead and the event is likely to finish by 7.30pm.
If you feel that you are likely to attend, it would be good if you could let us know by filling in this form.
We look forward to welcoming you to this event, but if you have any questions before then please do get in touch with me.
