NEWSLETTER – 28 April 2023
Welcome back to the start of a brand-new term. We have already seen much excitement throughout the last two weeks, from the hatching of ducklings and Equestrian Team success to our Year 13 final day in school, where they led a whole school Reflection thanking our wonderful community for everything they have experienced during their time at Windermere School. For some of our leavers, they have been a part of our school since they were 3 years old and it has been our privilege to prepare them for life beyond Windermere.
The Summer Term for many also means assessments and examinations. For most of us, regardless of age and stage, examinations can be stressful. Worry about workload, anxious about how you will do or being fearful of performing poorly, are all common feelings. It is important that we feel supported at these times and know that we can speak to parents and members of staff. Self-care is important and our Head of Safeguarding, Mrs Brown, is always on hand to provide support and advice.
Tips for success:
· Eat well – stock up on healthy snacks!
· Get enough sleep – sleep improves concertation and thinking. Make sure you have time to wind down after working and before going to bed.
· Be flexible during examinations and remember they do not last forever. Do not worry about the extra things that may need doing, like tidying your bedroom!
· Have somewhere comfortable to study, drawing up a clear revision schedule.
· Talk about your examination stress – share how you are feeling as others will be feeling the same.
· Exercise during examinations. Do not stop your exercise routines because of examinations. Make time to boost your energy levels, clear your mind and help reduce stress levels.
· Make time for treats – allow yourself time.
· Be kind to yourself!

Holiday Sailing Courses
Taught by our highly qualified instructors, participants can expect a hands-on, fun, and engaging experience. They will push their personal boundaries, develop new skills and become more confident on the water learning resilience and self-confidence. Both morning and afternoon sessions will see pupils work their way through the RYA courses and each pupil will have their own personal logbook recording their progress. More advanced courses available on request.
