CAREERS ADVICE
As part of the Careers Programme at Windermere School we encourage pupils to explore a range of sectors. This can be done through participation in external events. The medical sector is particularly competitive and the opportunity below will help any pupils navigate the entry requirements and give advice on how to gain the relevant experience and skills for an application. It is open to pupils in Years 10 to 12.
This information has gone to all UK pupils in Years 10 to 12 and their tutors. A gentle nudge from home is always useful to get the pupils to look at a range of options:
One of the first Get into Medicine conferences of the year is on Saturday 21 or Sunday 22 September, 9:30am – 3:30pm
This event offers a complete guide through the medical application journey. Pupils will gain key insights into the medical UCAS application process (including the NEW personal statement structure), connect with doctors and medical students, and gain a clearer view of a future in medicine.
During this conference, Dr Kennedy and Dr Siva will guide pupils through essential topics such as:
- Application Timelines
- How to Tactically Choose Medical Schools
- CV Building
- Personal Statements New format from 2026
- Medical School Interviews
- UCAT Entrance Exams to Medical School
- Medical Leadership and Awards Programmes
- Accessing Work Experience
- Accessing Scholarships
Pupils will be awarded a certificate of attendance, which can be listed on their UCAS applications for ‘activities that support higher education’.
Pupils and parents can register for free here.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please note that it is an online conference so your child would be online for some considerable time.
Kind regards,
Mrs Theresa Murray
