Dear Parents and Guardians,
School life is always a balance between academic progress and the character development that comes through the social, artistic and physical pursuits of the children. It is good to see the support for our local foodbank, which is under threat of closure during to falling donations, and I am sure our pupils will play their part, with your help, in supporting the vulnerable in our local community.
Our Year 9 had a very interesting day on last Thursday, learning about the Extended Essay component of the International Baccalaureate. It is one of the elements of the qualification which set it apart from other Sixth Form qualifications and is a particularly useful skill when it comes to written assessments at university. Pupils learn how to properly research and reference their work and this will make a huge difference to the grades they will achieve in their first year as undergraduates.
Next week is one of the great highlights of the year as we look forward to our musical production – School of Rock. It promises to be highly entertaining and we hope to see you there.

Huge congratulations to Lenka!
This weekend, our wonderful Assistant to the Operations Manager completed her final Wainwright — climbing Scafell, the last of all 214 Lake District peaks!
What an incredible achievement and a true testament to dedication, resilience and a love of the fells.
Well done, Lenka — we’re so proud of you!
A Wonderful Act of Kindness
Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Geoff, who reached out after reading Peter Hogan, our Chair of Governors’, recent article in The Telegraph.
Geoff was so inspired by what he read that he travelled all the way from the south of England to visit us here at Windermere School – and went on to make an incredible financial donation in support of our work.
We are truly humbled by his generosity and by the genuine care he showed for our school, our pupils, and our mission.
Moments like these remind us just how powerful connection and shared values can be.
