“Every moment is a fresh beginning.” — T.S. Eliot
I cannot believe we are already over two weeks into the new academic year and what a start to the year it has been, full of fresh beginnings.
Leaders are already a prominent part of our School. From Year 6 through to Year 12, we have already seen a maturity in how they are approaching their new challenges. Year 6 have started with Leadership Day and Wild Camp, both of which are considered a right of passage and an important step towards the independence of senior school life. Wild Camp is never without its challenges and the weather always likes to make itself known. Despite this, Year 6 rose to the challenge and showed great care and compassion towards one another. Leadership Day was an excellent opportunity to develop their communication skills, team work and cooperation at our watersports centre, Hodge Howe.
Our Year 12 have also not shied away from challenge and development as they took on the famous IB Induction Challenge! Challenges and activities from all of our faculties ranging from, rewiring a plug against the clock, creating a symphony, testing their knot tying skills and solving a grid reference puzzle. All this to win resources for their boat building competition. Look at the post below to see how they did.
Do not miss all the other adventures that have already taken place, including how the boarders enjoyed their first weekend on the water, the successes of our Silver D of E team and even our intrepid Friends of Windermere School hike!
Our Junior and Senior School Open Events are coming up and we would be grateful if families would share the information with friends they feel may be interested.
Wishing you a restful weekend,
Jenny Davies
