It was a pleasure to be able meet with parents at our recent Parents’ Forum to talk about our approaches to pastoral care, an area central to our work in school. It is vital to be able to work with parents when navigating the many challenges that raising children in the modern age brings and the event certainly helped me to reflect on how well we are doing in this area and what we can do to improve.

I spoke to the Senior School during Reflection this morning on the nature of leadership, having had the pleasure of announcing a number of our new pupil leaders in House roles as well as the new Senior Council. Leadership, despite coming with applause and recognition, is also an act of service. I advised the pupils taking up their new leadership roles to aim to be receptive, be humble, be coherent with their acts, be active and to be kind. This is such an important element of how we seek to challenge and develop our pupils, and whilst we recognised some individuals today, I challenged all the pupils to seek opportunities to lead and test their characters.
